Jessica Tanner
Jessica grew up in the Seattle area and has been dancing since she was seven years old. She started dancing, competing in jazz, lyrical, hip hop and tap. At the age of eleven, she centered her training on ballet under the instruction of Michiko Black at MK ballet and then a few years later under Kevin Kaiser at Evergreen City Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include Cupid from Don Quixote, Dew Drop from the Nutcracker, Crystal Fountain Fairy and Silver Jewel from Sleeping Beauty and a demi-soloist in the Walpurgisnacht Ballet. She has performed with BYU’s Theatre Ballet Company for three seasons now and toured California and the Pacific Northwest with them. In addition, she enjoys choreographing her own work, creating her first piece as a senior in high school and continuing throughout college. Jessica is currently pursuing an accounting degree at BYU with a Ballet minor. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Kyiv, Ukraine and has been married to her husband, McKay Sanders, for two years. Jessica has also been teaching ballet for two years now and has discovered a love for teaching. She is excited for her first year at Lifehouse Performing Arts Academy and is passionate about providing a wholesome environment to foster student’s growth in both ballet technique as well as in personal character and development.”
