Jennifer Bourne
Jennifer, was born in the middle of four sports-loving brothers. But she grew up dancing. From the BYU Creative Dance Program at age 3 to the Utah Regional Ballet (which has since been re-named The Metropolitan Ballet) at age 13. She performed as a soloist with URB for 5 years. She was among the first company members to audition for the Pacific Regional Ballet Association which has now grown into the Regional Dance America. She was a soloist with URB performing many leading roles in various original works and ballets including “Copellia”, “Cinderella”, and “The Nutcracker”. She has worked with many renowned choreographers and instructors, such as William Christiansen, Jaqueline Colledge, Connie Burton, Mark Lanham, Derryl Yeager, Matthew Degnan, Hugh Bigney and Janalyn Memmott. She has also performed with Centerstage, Make a Wish Foundation, and Rocky Mountain Ballet.
Jennifer has been teaching ballet for over 30 years now and was the assistant artistic director for Rocky Mountain Ballet. She taught at Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts for 6 years where she had the opportunity to not only teach ballet but to motivate, encourage, and inspire students to reach beyond their potential in dance and in their personal lives through her Unconquerable Spirit seminar she created. Jennifer has had the opportunity to share this life-changing presentation for youth and groups of all kinds.
She is currently writing a book called “Defining Moments”. With the purpose of bringing hope and encouragement to others who are in extreme situations. Written through her experiences living with her first husband who sustained a life-changing traumatic brain injury, losing her young mother to heart disease, a step-son to cancer, two friends to suicide, and her own struggles with depression and suicide, it describes ways to thrive through traumatic experiences, heartache, death & despair. It is her greatest desire to inspire and offer hope to youth and people of all ages!
Jennifer has four children and four grandchildren.
Jennifer also loves teaching her personally developed exercise class virtually called Total Toning.
She is inspired by her family, the mountains, deserts, beaches and all nature no matter how large or small. She loves to read, walk, run, hike, explore, encourage, motivate, inspire others and find a way to dance in any environment.
