Debra Hahn

Tap

Debra was raised in Henderson, Nevada where she received training in tap, ballet, jazz, and Irish dancing. She regularly performed in dance recitals and competitions where she developed a strong passion for tap dance. She studied under a member of the touring dance group, Tap Dawgs, and was trained in several styles of tap.

In addition to dance, Debra also received vocal training at Skouson Vocal Studios. Her love of singing and dance eventually took her into the world of musical theater. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Dance Theatre from Brigham Young University in 2009. While at BYU, she traveled the world and performed with the Young Ambassadors for two years. Debra was able to share her love of tap with her colleagues at school when she was asked to be a tap instructor at BYU.

She spent several years performing in Utah at the Hale Center Theaters. Favorite credits include My Fair Lady (Eliza Doolittle), Annie Get Your Gun (Annie Oakley), Crazy for You (Polly Baker), Into the Woods (Cinderella), The Drowsy Chaperone (JanetVan DeGraff), and Footloose (Rusty). Debra was also a featured soloist in concerts with the Red Mountain Music Company and Zion’s Youth Chorus & Symphony in Las Vegas.

Debra has recently returned from New York City where she met her husband, Brendan. During her time there, she taught youth music and dance classes as well as performed in various productions. She’s excited to be back in Utah and to be part of the Lifehouse family. When Debra is not teaching class, she is taking care of her three lovely girls Evelyn, Clara, and Scarlett.
