Saratoga Springs/Herriman Audition Information

Dear Lifehouse Parents and Students,

After much thought and consideration, I have decided to cancel the in person Company placement auditions.  It was a very difficult decision.  It is helpful to watch students individually and collectively during the auditions to make their placements but with COVID cases rising I had to weigh the benefit with the COVID safety guidelines we could reasonably implement.  Unlike our regular classes where we could keep students isolated to their own classes, auditions are done by age group and numbers can be up to 30-40 students at a time.  Social distancing just cannot happen with those numbers.  Cancelling the placement audition under other circumstances would not be our first choice.  We hope everyone will understand the need to adjust this year.

The following procedures will be done in place of the usual company placement auditions.

Company Auditions

For returning students from the 2019/20 year

1.  Fill out the attached Company audition placement form and email it to the studio at lifehouse.saratoga@gmail.com by July 23, 2020.  The form needs to have both the  student and parent signatures.

2.  No audition is required.  Placement will happen by teacher/director observations from the 2019/20 year.

For New Students to Lifehouse

1.  Fill out the attached Company audition placement form and email it to the studio at lifehouse.saratoga@gmail.com by July 23, 2020.  The form needs to have both the student and parent signatures.

2.  Email the studio at lifehouse.saratoga@gmail.com and indicate your student is new to Lifehouse.  We will contact you and arrange a summer placement class or set up a video or personal audition

Please know every placement will be thoughtfully reviewed. The teachers and directors will meet to discuss the student’s technical skills and place students based on what they have mastered last year and this summer. Our goal is to always place each student in the company that will best help them to learn and be challenged.   Auditioning is an important part of the arts and a valuable experience.  We look forward to holding auditions again soon!

Best Regards,
