Dear Parents and Students,
I am so excited to be directing the 2015 Lifehouse Nutcracker. The Nutcracker is a tradition all around the world and we at Lifehouse have the opportunity to participate in that tradition every 2 years. I have danced or choreographed in over 16 nutcrackers and I have so many fond memories from each of those productions. It is a privilege and responsibility to dance in such a production.
The Nutcracker is a production. It requires all participants to work together to tell the story. That is why being in the Nutcracker requires such a dedication from students and parents. When one person is absent from rehearsal or class time it is hard to go on with choreography because we have several groups of people working together. Participating open classes and the younger company classes will be learning their choreography in class. All other company classes will be learning choreography outside of class. Detail for your particular class are below.
5-7 yr. old ballet, 6-8 yr. old combo, 6 yr. old combo adv., 7 yr. old combo adv., and 8-9 yr. old combo: Choreography will be learned in class. No audition required. Classes will have a $40 costume rental fee.
Beginning open ballet and Intermediate open ballet: Participation is optional. Choreography will be learned outside of class. A choreography fee between $50-$75 and a costume rental fee of $40 will be required. Audition time-August 28 from 5-6:15 p.m. Please bring your completed audition form and arrive 15 minutes before audition time to be measured for costume in Studio 1.

Blue, Green, Gold, Magenta, Orange, Purple, Red, Sage, Silver, Turquoise, and Yellow Companies: If you are auditioning that tells me you are committing to be at all rehearsals. Below is a list of expectations and things that might help your decision as to whether being a part of this traditional event is for your child and family. Our ballet staff is fully dedicated to making this year’s Nutcracker a gratifying and amazing experience. Your child will feel a part of the story and feel his or hers important role in this magical Christmas story. Each part gives a chance for every child to act and dance in the graceful art form of ballet.
I am looking for adults that would be interested in being parents in the party scene in the first act. The part includes very easy steps and acting. It is really fun and NO DANCE TRAINING IS NEEDED! Email if youare interested or put your information on your child audition form.
I am also looking for boys between the ages of 10-16 to be party boys and rats. This doesn’t require dance experience. Both parts are fun and energetic.
Last thing I am looking for anyone willing to volunteer to make this event possible. Help is needed closerto the show; loading and unloading sets, checking students in and out, handing out costumes, helping backstage, and more. If you can assist us in some of these things leave your information on your child’s audition form below.
I am so excited to get started on the Nutcracker. I promise if your child hasn’t ever been in the Nutcracker before they need to join us, it is an experience they will always remember.
*Please fill out attached form and bring to audition. See Below.
